THE MINI
1h30: Vayrac – Gluges : 9 km
A short route perfect for families with children to discover the activity, or for those short on time who want to do several things in one day. It's a condensed version of the river and a relaxing experience, culminating in a beautiful arrival in Gluges. Start anytime between 9:30 am and 3:30 pm.

THE CLASSIC
3h30: Vayrac – Saint-Sozy: 18 km
This is the essential at Safaraid ! Course accessible to beginners who will make you pass at the foot of the Copeyre belvedere and the Mirandol castle, along the Glugescliffs. You will cross the village of Creysse before arriving at the heart of Meyronne-Saint-Sozy. Free departure between 9:30 am and 1:30 pm.

THE MAXI
5:00 a.m.: Vayrac – Pinsac: 27 km
A large course that we offer for the day, it is suitable for sporty or experienced people who want to make the most of the long summer days! Plan to leave before 10:30 a.m.
Reserved for sporty people accustomed to paddling. Long-distance course.

THE SUPER-MAXI
7:00 a.m.: Vayrac – Souillac: 36 km
Another very big course during the day, advised to those initiated and sports. Plan a start before 10:00 am.
Not recommended for novices in July-August; good physical condition required. Very long route.

Good to know: We provide you with free jerrycans (1 per boat) to keep your belongings dry during your activities.
As the watertightness of the containers is not guaranteed, we strongly advise against bringing along items that are sensitive to water, such as your cameras, phones… No recourse will be possible in case of a problem.
ATTENTION :
The durations are given for information only; they depend on the water level of the river, your level of practice, your pace…
Always allow extra time for your walks.
For example, plan a departure at least 3 hours before the time of the bus you have chosen for a 9km route, time to equip yourself, have the route explained and your break times.

How it works ?
If you park your vehicle in Vayrac :
After a briefing about the trip, you will embark directly from our base in Vayrac to descend by canoe to the arrival point.

Directions: in the village, follow the direction of the Dordogne and the campsites. We are 2 km from the village, after the lake and the “Mirandol Dordogne” holiday village.

Return by Canoe/Kayak
After the briefing about the trip, you will embark and have plenty of time to descend at your own pace (breaks, picnics) to the chosen arrival point (maximum arrival: 6:00 pm).
Mandatory rules for canoeing and kayaking:
Participants must be able to swim 25 meters, submerge themselves, and wear the life jacket provided by us.
Minimum age is 6 years old.
Closed-toe shoes must be worn throughout the walk.
What equipment should I bring for a canoe-kayak trip?
We recommend comfortable sportswear (swimsuits, T-shirts, closed shoes), food and drinks for daytime activities, and depending on the weather, don't forget sun protection (creams, sunglasses with straps, hats, etc.) as well as sweatshirts and windbreakers.
What is the price of a canoe trip on the Dordogne?
trips Canoe and kayak of 9km start from €23 per adult with online booking. The price then depends on the distance and type of boat.
What services do you offer at the Vayrac base?
base Vayrac, you'll find a shop selling waterproof bags, phone cases, water shoes, caps, sunscreen, eyeglass cords, and more, as well as cold drinks.
Nearby: a pétanque court, a wooded area by the river for picnics, a children's playground, a fitness trail, and more.
Accommodation: within a kilometer, a 3-star campsite, gîtes and bed and breakfasts, and a holiday village.
In the village (2 km): all shops, a crêperie, a pizzeria, banks, and more.
What are the cancellation conditions for my canoe trip?
weather is not grounds for cancellation or refund. If you wish to end your trip early, we will do our best to pick you up the same day, but no refund will be given for the remaining day(s).
Safaraid Dordogne reserves the right to cancel any departure for safety reasons (high river level, weather alert, possibility of storms, etc.). This cancellation will result in an immediate refund of your deposit or a change to your trip dates.
Are there any specific rules for environmental protection on the Dordogne?
There are no specific rules other than common sense and, above all, the prohibition of fires on the riverbanks. We are a protected area with exceptional biodiversity, so please help us protect it.
