Your Canoe-Kayak Stay
Between Corrèze, Lot and Dordogne, embark on a journey into nature that will allow you to discover many villages classified among "The Most Beautiful Villages of France": Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne, Carennac, Souillac or even La Roque-Gageac and Beynac.
From your canoe, you will encounter many castles, such as Mirandol, Treyne, and Belcasphone number

This trip is the full version of our canoe tour. You can extend this adventure over several days as you wish, with possible departures from Monceaux, Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne or Vayrac.
DAY 1
From Argentat to Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne
Difficulty:
Distance: 19 km
Duration: 3.5 to 4 hours
Meet at 8:30 am in Vayrac, 91 Route des Granges de Mézels 46110 VAYRAC, free private unsupervised parking.
Arriving in Monceaux-sur-Dordogne around 10:45 AM, we handed over our equipment and set off for the descent. This was the wildest section of the week, winding through the forests of the Corrèze region. During the descent, we passed the Battut rapids.
Arrival in Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne and its magnificent Penitents' Chapel on the riverbank. Crossing the guardrail before arriving at the campsite Huttopia*** , perfectly situated in the village of Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne. For added comfort, you can spend the night at the exceptional Hotel Le Beaulieu*** . You will also find theHotel Les Flots Bleus** in the village center.
Do you prefer a stay immersed in nature? Bivouacking is also possible!
DAY 2
From Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne to Vayrac
Difficulty:
Distance: 22 km
Duration: 4 hours 30 minutes
Departure in the morning from Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne.
During the descent, a visit to the magnificent village of Carennac and its cloister is possible.
Night at the campsite "Les Granges"or in a bivouac.
Looking for a more comfortable night? You can book a pitched tent or a cabin for two people with a mattress, electrical outlet, etc., for just €49 per night. Book on the Camping "Les Granges"*** website.

DAY 3
From Vayrac to Saint-Sozy
Difficulty:
Distance: 18 km
Duration: 3.5 to 4 hours
A beautiful descent between the limestone cliffs of the Quercy region, passing at the foot of Mirandol Castle and the Copeyre viewpoint . You can also visit Gluges and its church, whose stained-glass window restoration was financed by Edith Piaf, who loved to come here to recharge. A stop is possible in Montvalent to see the resurgence of the underground river from the Padirac Cave (10-minute walk). You will also have the opportunity to stop in Creysse , a typical village of the Lot region.
Night at campsite the "Village du Port"*** for an evening by the fire pit, enjoying a good glass of wine and a night of glamping or at the Les Borgnes campsite depending on availability.
Possibility of bivouacking.
For an overnight stay, you have the choice between theHotel "Grangier"*** and theHotel "La Terrasse"***. Both hotels have their own restaurant and offer simply furnished rooms.
DAY 4
From Saint-Sozy to Souillac
Difficulty:
Distance: 19 km
Duration: 3.5 to 4 hours
A day dedicated to the cliffs and castles of the Lot region. Enjoy a swim on a pebble beach opposite Belcastel Castle, and pass under the Château de la Treyne, a member of the Relais & Châteaux group. If you look carefully, you might even be able to enter a cave with your canoe or kayak and feel the refreshing coolness of the spring.
Night at the campsite "Les Ondines"*** in Souillac or in a bivouac.
For a night in a hotel, you can book your night at the hotel "Le Pavillon St Martin"***.
DAY 5
From Souillac to St Julien de Lampon
Difficulty:
Distance: 14 km
Duration: 3.5 to 4 hours
Before setting off, a quick stop in Souillac is a must. Visit the Abbey and the Louis Roque Distillery, specialists in "Vieille Prune" (Old Plum). Pick up a few things at the farmers' market for your picnic and you're off! Birds, beaches, wild swimming, and relaxation all the way to St Julien de Lampon.
Night at the municipal campsite of Saint-Julien-de-Lampon** or in bivouac.
For a comfortable night in a simple setting, you can book your night at thehotel-restaurant "Le Rouffillac"***.
DAY 6
From St Julien de Lampon to Vitrac
Difficulty:
Distance: 14 km
Duration: 3.5 to 4 hours
During the descent, a stop is a must on an island to offer you the luxury of a wild beach!
Passing through the Montfort bend and its castle perched atop the cliff.
Night at the "Le Perpetuum"*** campsite or in a bivouac.
For a night in a good, comfortable bed, book now at thehotel-restaurant "La Treille"*** in Vitrac, accessible from the river.
DAY 7
From Vitrac to Beynac
Difficulty:
Distance: 14 km
Duration: 3.5 to 4 hours
You'll pass by the village of Domme. Then, you can't miss Laroque-Gageac, a troglodyte village and the land of the river bargemen. The river is calm here; let yourself drift and admire this jewel of the Périgord. Just a few kilometers further on, you'll discover the Château de Castelnaud, a fantastic medieval fortress facing the Château de Beynac and the gardens of Marqueyssac.
Final stop just after Vézac Castle.
Return bus at 3:30 pm to Vayrac, arrival around 5:30 pm. A fairly short descent but very rich in visits, castles, picturesque villages…

How do we get supplies?
Along the route, you'll find towns and villages offering shops where you can stock up on supplies. Some riverside campsites have small grocery stores. Pack your first picnic before leaving Vayrac , as you won't find anything from Monceaux-sur-Dordogne until Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne (18km further downstream).
Are we allowed to do wild camping or bivouacking in the Dordogne Valley?
Yes, wild camping or bivouacking is permitted on the banks of the Dordogne River. Fires are strictly prohibited. You can sleep in a tent, hammock, under a tarp, or under the stars to enjoy the exceptional skies of the Quercy Black Triangle.
It is essential to respect private property and its residents, take all your rubbish with you, and avoid damaging the surrounding nature and biodiversity. The Dordogne Valley is a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve; let's protect it!
What equipment is provided?
Depending on the length of your stay and the number of people per boat, we will provide you with a sit-on-top kayak (1 or 2 people) or an Old Town or Nova Craft Canadian canoe (2 or 3 people), a 55L dry bag per person (except for luggage transport: 1 dry bag per canoe), a life jacket, and a paddle per person.
A waterproof map with all the instructions will be given to you upon departure.

What are the essential items to bring for a multi-day canoe-kayak trip?
Going on a multi-day canoe trip requires some equipment such as camping gear, a stove, and sportswear and sturdy shoes. If you don't have camping equipment, don't worry, you can also stay in a hotel or bed and breakfast!

How can I optimize the load on my canoe/kayak?
Pack only the essentials for your canoe trip to minimize your luggage. Don't bring food; you'll find villages along your journey where you can resupply.
If we have booked the "luggage transport" service, what are we allowed to pack in our luggage?
Ideally, allow one bag per person. For smaller items like sleeping bags or sleeping mats, bundle them together for easier transport.
We will label all your luggage with our own Safaraid.
We take great care in moving your bags and tents each day from campsite to campsite; however, we cannot be held responsible for any loss, theft, or damage. Furthermore, our luggage storage areas are neither locked nor monitored.
