The questions you ask yourself before your traveling canoe hike on the Dordogne:

How do we get supplies?

All along the route, you will find towns and villages offering shops to keep you supplied. Some campsites along the river have small grocery stores. Plan the first picnic before leaving Vayrac because leaving from Monceaux you would have nothing until Beaulieu (18km further down).

Are we allowed to go wild camping?

Yes, wild camping is tolerated on the banks bordering the Dordogne. The lights are prohibited.
Respect private properties as well as their residents. Reduce all your waste and do not damage the surrounding nature and biodiversity.

What equipment is provided?

Depending on your stay and the number of people per boat, we will provide you with a Sit on top kayak (1 or 2 places) or a Canadian Old Town or Nova Craft canoe (2 or 3 places), a 55l can per inclusive boat, a vest and a paddle per person.
A waterproof card with all the instructions will be given to you when you leave.
Remember to download the Canoë France to prepare your stay and guide you throughout your hike.

How can I optimize my loading on my boat?

Embark with your essentials for your stay in order to optimize your luggage. Don't worry about living, you will find villages to resupply you as you descend.

If we have booked the “luggage transport” service, what are we allowed to pack in our luggage?

Ideally, limit the number of bags, count one bag per person. As for small parts like duvets or mattresses, make sure to tie them together.
We will label all your luggage before your departure.

We take the greatest care in moving your bags and tents every day from campsite to campsite; however, we cannot be held responsible in the event of loss, theft or damage to one of them. In addition, our luggage rooms are neither locked nor under surveillance.
