From monceaux to Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne

Difficulty:

Distance: 19 km

Duration: 3.5 to 4 hours

Meet at 8:30 am in Vayrac, Leisure Centre – Les Granges 46110 VAYRAC, free private unsupervised parking.

Arriving in Monceaux-sur-Dordogne around 10:45 AM, we handed over our equipment and set off for the descent. This was the wildest section of the week. During the descent, we passed the Battut rapids.

Arrival in Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne and its magnificent chapel on the riverbank. Crossing the guardrail before arriving at the "Huttopia"*** campsite , perfectly situated in the village of Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne.

From Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne to Vayrac

Difficulty:

Distance: 22 km

Duration: 4 hours 30 minutes

Departure in the morning from Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne.

During the descent, a visit to Carennac and its cloister is possible.

Night at the "Les Granges" campsite on the riverbank and only a few minutes' walk from our base.

You can pick up your car to visit Rocamadour , Collonges-la-Rouge or go eat in Martel

From Vayrac to Saint-Sozy

Difficulty:

Distance: 18 km

Duration: 3.5 to 4 hours

A beautiful descent between the limestone cliffs of the Quercy region, passing at the foot of Mirandol Castle Copeyre viewpoint . You can also visit Gluges and its church, whose stained-glass window restoration was financed by Edith Piaf, who loved to come here to recharge. A stop is possible in Montvalent to see the resurgence of the underground river from the Padirac Cave (10-minute walk). You will also have the opportunity to stop in Creysse , a typical village of the Lot region.

For an evening by the fire pit, enjoying a good glass of wine and a glamping night , you will spend the night at the "Village du Port"*** campsite 200m from our base or at the Les Borgnes campsite depending on availability.

From Saint-Sozy to Souillac

Difficulty:

Distance: 19 km

Duration: 3.5 to 4 hours

A day dedicated to the cliffs and castles of the Lot region. Enjoy a swim on a pebble beach opposite Belcastel Castle , and pass under the Château de la Treyne , a member of the Relais & Châteaux group. If you look carefully, you might even be able to enter a cave with your canoe or kayak and feel the refreshing coolness of the spring.

Overnight stay at the "Les Ondines"*** campsite in Souillac. This campsite is located just a few minutes' walk from the town where you will find all amenities.

From Souillac to St Julien de Lampon

Difficulty:

Distance: 14 km

Duration: 3.5 to 4 hours

Before setting off, a quick stop in Souillac is a must. Visit the Abbey and the Louis Roque Distillery, specialists in "Vieille Prune" (Old Plum). Pick up a few things at the farmers' market for your picnic and you're off! Birds, beaches, wild swimming, and relaxation all the way to St Julien de Lampon .

Night at the municipal campsite of Saint-Julien-de-Lampon** .

From St Julien de Lampon to Vitrac

Difficulty:

Distance: 14 km

Duration: 3.5 to 4 hours

During the descent, a stop is a must on an island to offer you the luxury of a wild beach!

Passing through the Montfort bend and its castle perched atop the cliff.

Overnight stay at the "Le Perpetuum"*** campsite . This campsite offers everything you need on site: swimming pool, grocery store and restaurant!

From Vitrac to Beynac

Difficulty:

Distance: 14 km

Duration: 3.5 to 4 hours

You'll pass by the village of Domme . Then, you can't miss Laroque-Gageac , a troglodyte village and the land of the river bargemen. The river is calm here; let yourself drift and admire this jewel of the Périgord. Just a few kilometers further on, you'll discover the Château de Castelnaud , a fantastic medieval fortress facing the Château de Beynac and the gardens of Marqueyssac .

Final stop just after Vézac Castle .

Return bus at 3:30 pm to Vayrac, arrival around 5:30 pm. A fairly short descent but very rich in visits, castles, picturesque villages…
