Dordogne and swimming: The beaches between Vayrac and Souillac

The pebble beaches are the essential places in the Lot to enjoy the magnificent Dordogne , picnic or even swim. During your canoe-kayak trips between Vayrac and Souillac , you will come across several of these beaches along your route so that you can take a break to relax, or bivouac during your itinerant hikes .

Vayrac Beach

Next to our Vayrac , you will find a first beach. This is located next to a large green space where you can enjoy picnic tables , games for children and a view of the beautiful cliff of Floirac . A perfect little beach to have a good time with the family.

Copeyre Beach

One of the busiest is Copeyre . It is a spacious and practical beach since it is located right next to a waterside tavern La Guinguette de Copeyre (hours: 12:00-14:00; 19:00-22:00) . If you stop there, you can enjoy a good meal while enjoying the view of the river.

Foussac Beach

Just opposite Copeyre Beach , and more precisely on the left bank of the river, there is a second, slightly wilder beach: Foussac Beach . This beach is less crowded than the previous one and is located right next to a small cave . In addition, you will find trees there which will allow you to find shade if you wish.

Gluges Beach

Gluges Beach is one of the most popular in our region. It is a perfect place for swimming with children because swimming is supervised . This beach is sunny all day, but a green area with trees is available if you prefer to be in the shade. On this beach, you can also enjoy a Gluges cliffs . Additionally, if you ever feel a little peckish, you can go to the La Glugette (hours: 11:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.), which is about a five-minute walk away.

The Vieux Chêne Beach in Montvalent

On your route between Vayrac and Saint-Sozy , you will pass by a beach located in Montvalent : La Plage du Vieux Chêne . Right next door, you can relax at L a Guinguette du Vieux Chêne (hours: 12:00-23:00 until the end of September) which offers traditional cuisine , bar , swimming pool and pétanque court .

The Port Beach in Creysse

Then, towards the end of your route departing from Vayrac , you can relax at La Plage du Port in Creysse , a sunny beach but where it is possible to take shade under walnut trees. This place is only accessible by canoe or on foot . Therefore, if you wish to go there by car, it must be parked in the village. If you feel like it, you can eat in the village with the different restaurants or at the bakery .

La Bourgnette Beach

La Bougnette Beach is located near Pinsac with a beautiful view of the cliffs . It appears to be a little wilder , with trees to take advantage of the shade, and is set back from the banks of the Dordogne . By canoe-kayak it is easy to access, however, if you wish to go there by car, you will have to be careful because it is not very accessible and parking is not organized .
