Going on a canoe camping trip offers a total immersion in nature, but that doesn't mean sacrificing the pleasures of good food. Whether you're a gourmet adventurer or a fan of simple and tasty dishes, here are some recipes adapted for cooking easily and deliciously during your canoe trip.
Potatoes roasted in the embers
- Potatoes
- Aluminum foil
- Salt
- Butter (optional)
Wash and wrap the potatoes in aluminum foil. Cook them directly in the embers of the fire. Consider using a mini-barbecue. Serve them with a pinch of salt and butter if desired.
Melted Camembert cooked over embers, to share
- Camembert with a wooden box
- Aluminum
- Thyme
- Add extra ingredients according to your taste (onion, honey, shallot, etc.)
Remove the Camembert from its plastic wrap and place it back in its wooden box without the lid. Add your choice of ingredients to enhance the flavor of your Camembert. Wrap it in aluminum foil and let it cook in the embers at the end of your barbecue.
