Our base in Monceaux-sur-Dordogne, near Argentat, in the Corrèze department (19), is ideally located for exploring the Dordogne River in the Corrèze region.
As you paddle down the Dordogne by canoe or kayak, you'll discover the wildest part of the river, alternating between wooded hills and fun little rapids (Class 2), including the Battut rapid. You'll pass through the small village of Brivezac before arriving at the Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne lake and its magnificent chapel.

Argentat – Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne: 18 km – 3h30

This is a classic of our trips down the Dordogne: departure from our canoe base in Saulières, in the commune of Monceaux-sur-Dordogne (on the main road between Argentat and Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne).

A few rocks just below the surface of the water from the first kilometer so that you can get used to your canoe or kayak and off you go for a day trip (unless you want to go for a weekend or a week-long 120 km trip, the "queen" of trips on the Dordogne...).

You'll pass several campsites along the river and a few small riverside cafes and snack bars (for those who want to be on the safe side, bring a picnic).
Swimming breaks are practically mandatory… it's a relaxing day out…
We'll pass through the village of Brivezac, then just before arriving in Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne, we'll navigate the Battut rapids before reaching the Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne lake, with its splendid view of the village and the Penitents' Chapel. Welcome to the Limousin Riviera…
